Yes, the trees are still bare but the buds are peeking out. The grass is clumping up through the leaves on the ground. The lilies are poking their round little bodies through the mud.
I'm trying to keep my focus on the winter projects I need to finish. There are piles of crochet that will get pushed aside when the garden planting begins. And the baking, OH THE BAKING, I wanted to get finished and into the freezer before the oven starts it's annual competition with the air conditioner.
But I also need to fight the mud pit in the goat pen. And there was a swarm of mites, begging for a battle, hanging around the chicken coop door this morning. And DH got the grow lights installed in the basement which meant DW needed to get some seeds started.
It seems that winter has turned into spring and I'm trying to fill the needs of both seasons at the same time! But I also know that this is Indiana- a land where the weather can change her mind on a whim. And seldom is there a High School basketball season that doesn't end with a last minute weather "temper tantrum." So I'm not ruling out winter until March Madness is over.
( But I did get the seeds started. And I might toss some lettuce seed out soon-just in case!)
