Rambling Down 2019

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! We celebrated with our family on Christmas Day. This year we were blessed to have all our children and grandchildren with us. We had a small brunch with the main attraction being biscuits and gravy and then exchanged gifts. It was a lazy day of favorite movies with everyone piled up in the living room.

This week I've had pleasure and pain. I'm learning how to be a caretaker for my sister who is dealing with cancer and I'm filling in as babysitter for the grandson whose daycare is closed for the holidays. It's an awkward balancing act for me- just the kind of scenario God uses to stretch me when I start getting too comfortable.

In my free time, I'm working on a homesteading checklist for next year. Since we've cut back on the number of animals we keep and we didn't have a garden last year, I feel like I need a reminder system on how to homestead and the things that are important to me. I'll share it when I get finished but don't expect the usual "plant now, pluck now, plow now" calendar. This will be useful for anyone interested in living a more simple lifestyle whether you have a "homestead" or not.

The blog verse for 2019 was
"O give thanks unto the LORD for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever." Psalm 118:1

This is especially fitting for this post where I get to share that the surgeon released me at my last appointment! I no longer have any physical restrictions! I'm so happy to end this year on a good note. See you in 2020!
