We still have unseasonably warm weather. I checked the forecast and it looks like we might get closer to normal towards the end of the week. Personally, I'd rather have the cold. It's nice to be able to go out in a light jacket but things are getting confused around here.
One of my hens went broody. I ended up giving her some eggs to hatch. We lost two birds to a predator this week so I might as well let the broody girl get started on bringing our numbers back up.
We also have 2 rabbits pulling fur. I was a little slow moving the grow-outs last time and we had one doe that I suspect was visited by the sex change fairy. So those 2 rabbits may -or may not- be bred. If they aren't, I'll assume the spring like weather has prompted false pregnancies.
There are new buds on my blueberry bushes. Last year we didn't have many blueberries due to a late frost and I've used all that were in the freezer so I will be very disappointed if we don't have a crop this year.
And all the things I dreamed of doing when it got too cold to do anything else have been put on hold. I really was looking forward to a winter full of spinning and crocheting and soup making and....
Ah, well. I guess Mother Nature will have her fun.
