This is what Silkies are notorious for and is the reason I wanted them. I hate tending an incubator and baby chicks! I've never seen 3 hens share one nest before but evidently they are tag-teaming. It will be interesting to see how they manage the chicks after the hatch!

I've had two hens share a clutch of eggs before.....I jokingly said the baby that hatched was a Democrat because it had TWO moms....I know, I'm so bad!
I do love silkies and have thought of getting a few more, I hope you have lots of new little fluff balls running around soon

I'm hoping to set up a little breeding operation on the side to sell chicks at the auction. But first I'll let them learn how to be good moms.

Yes! Chicks are a LOT of fun when they've got a momma and all you have to do is watch their antics!
