MEN!

We stumbled, fell down, blundered, and got way off track since the last post. And that's ok. Sometimes relationships come before lifestyle goals. Even though we were still on our same acre with the same critters and garden and chores, we just did the minimum needed to keep everything together while we nursed our hurting bodies. And since DH was off the road for most of 4 months, we learned to live together again. We took up new hobbies-together, traveled-together, went to a rodeo-together, hiked lots of trails-together. And we did all the everyday stuff-together. It was great!

DH slowly recovered from his injuries and returned to work yesterday. He spent the last weekend home alone-ish (I heard he had some company from some dear sons.) while I took off to Topeka to visit the MEN (Mother Earth News) Fair. I had a great time and it was just the break we both needed to refresh our homesteading spirit.

I learned a lot and saw a lot... laughed a lot and walked a lot.... tasted stuff, petted critters, and scratched my own head a few times.

It was the perfect time for me to mix with a bunch of like-minded folks and recall why I started this crazy journey in the first place.

Meanwhile, my other men (DH and son) surprised me with a refurbished buck shed when I got home!

Moose is going to love it! Right now he's still hanging out with the ladies. Since he was so young when we got him, I'm giving him plenty of time to get the job done before I separate them.

As for the rest of the men around here, well, that's a story for the next post. Check back for that soon!
