Onions have layers...... |
I finally pulled the last of the onions out of the garden today. They were smack dab in the middle so they had to be pulled before we could till it.
Ogres have layers |
And while I was cleaning the onions, and trying not to cry, I thought about some other tears that had been shed lately. It seems that a combination of pain and pain killers can make for one grumpy DH. It also makes his inner thermostat wacky. Which is why he is wearing a jacket and gloves inside an 80 degree house.
I've been doing a lot more searching and reading on no till gardening and I really feel that method is so doable. I would really like to try it! But I am not the only one on this little acre. And the other half of this team isn't seeing eye to eye with me on it. He tells me to go ahead and try it my way BUT he will plant HIS peppers and tomatoes and yada yada on a tilled plot in the garden. And don't come crying to him when I don't have anything but weeds in MY garden come the middle of summer.
Well.
Well.
I seriously thought about taking him up on the offer-kind of a garden challenge between the two of us. But that wouldn't be very submissive of me, would it? Besides, marriage isn't a competition. It's an opportunity to support and compromise with the person God has put at your side.
That'll do donkey, that'll do. |
So today I did a little digging and planted some peas.
I will plan out the garden the way DH likes......... and wait for him to see that my way is better!
