The best laid plans

I think winter is here, not sure since the sun is shining and the temp is in the 50's. But I am not going to complain! I know the weather can change it's mind much too quick around here.
We made great strides in the fall to be prepared for the winter-we bought a heated bucket for the goat water, dug out the heater for the poultry waterer, put a new deep freeze in the basement for all the chickens and rabbits that we butchered, stocked up on straw and hay, and canned and froze all the produce we could get our hands on. I was so ready to HIBERNATE on my little place. But God has other plans for me. He is  s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g me!
Today we learned that DH's chronic back pain will require a decompression surgery. While that is not nearly as serious as an intensive back surgery, he will have to be off work for a 6 week recovery period. Add to that the time off before the surgery and we are looking at a minimum of 2 months with no income. It's a very tough spot to be in. But-and this is a very BIG but- God has seen us through tougher times and He will see us through this. We are just so thankful the surgery is not the "bad one"!!!!
I can't say it as well as Robert Burns but my plans have changed. Now, instead of hibernating, I will be working on more ways to be frugal. And instead of decluttering, I will be playing nurse/maid to the one who brings in the clutter. And that is all ok. And I can't wait to share what I learn with you!
