As I mentioned in an earlier post, I went on a backpacking trip with DH over the Labor Day weekend and,
if you will recall, we had a very good time. However, as is often the case, the bill has come due for our little trip. It seems the price I will be paying is an all-over, full-body, unbelievably itchy breakout. YIKES! I have bumps from head to toe (yes, ALL the nooks and crannies. I know TMI. hee hee) I'm guessing the chiggers are still bragging about the feast they had on me.
So, how lucky am I that DH got some vacation time(pre-planned for upcoming family reunion) at this very unhappy blip on my timeline??? Well. let me tell ya-
The minute he pulled in the drive yesterday evening, he turned into the perfect nurse (cuteness and all.) I couldn't ask for a better helper. He has went above and beyond any DW's expectations. For example:
After he cooked a dinner that would knock anybody's socks off, he insisted on cleaning the dishes and kitchen. After that he cleaned out the camper we are taking to the reunion, which hadn't been used this year (visions of spider webs dancing in your head?) Then before we went to bed, he dabbed cream on all the spots I couldn't reach. This morning he jumped up at the first sign of daylight and took over all the animal chores. Happily fed chickens, guineas, goats, rabbits, dogs, and a cat were singing his praises when I finally dragged my itchy butt out of bed. The coffee was waiting along with a cheery "good morning!"
I could go on and on to make you jealous of what a wonderful DH I have but you (especially those of you married for more than a couple days) are probably all seeing through this little charade of a blog. But if you are still believing it all- come to Indiana and let me show you the fabulous oceanfront property I'm trying to sell. HAHAHAHAHA!
Disclaimer: The above blog post was entirely in jest. On a serious note- He really did dab the cream on the spots I couldn't reach last night! I couldn't ask for a better husband or friend.
